• Robert Dankanin

Robert Dankanin has worked in software development and testing for almost 8 years, with the last 5 years specialized in set-up and management of large test centers. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence from Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia.

Robert started his career in 2000 as a development engineer at Vaisala Oyj, Helsinki. Then he worked as a freelance programmer at Sysis GmbH in Vienna for few months. In 2001 he joined Sun Microsystems, Prague where he worked as a Core QA Engineer, taking care for quality of core modules in proprietary and open-source Integrated Development Environments. After a short assignment dedicated to set-up of automated daily builds, unit tests, execution and reporting for Schemantix based in Prague, he joined Ceska Sporitelna - the largest bank in Czech Republic, member of the Erste Bank Group. There he started as a Test Manager on a large project implementing new core banking system for corporate clients and in six months he also became responsible for the whole testing workplace of the bank. Later on, as a Director of Test Competence Centre, he was involved in many SW / infrastructure projects & activities. He has also successfully managed User and Technical Acceptance Tests for a 2 years long centralization project of a retail core banking system including 110 testers. In 2006, he joined a large multinational environment at DHL Information Services where he was responsible for test methodology, test labs & tools. While leading the Test and Test Management Service Groups, he provided numerous project specific consultancies, assessments, as well as trainings. Lately, he started his own consultancy STEST based in Prague.

Robert is founder and president of the Czech and Slovak Testing Board, member of the ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board).
