TMMi Implementation at Dutch banks

The Test Maturity Model Integration is gaining in popularity across Europe and the USA. It has been developed complementary to the existing CMMi framework. Its growing popularity is based upon it being an independent test process improvement model and the simple presentation of maturity levels that it provides. Bart Bouwers will first briefly outline the TMMi model.
Improve Quality Services currently is realizing TMM Level 2 improvements with several Dutch banks, as improvement projects. A TMM Level 2 Quick Scan forms the basis for improvement in each of these projects. The Quick Scan assesses an organization’s test process against the criteria set by the TMM Level 2 and provides recommendations for improvement. An improvement project then implements these recommendations.
The presentation will focus on the (intermediate) results of these improvement projects. Experiences, recommendations for implementation and pitfalls will be addressed. Topics will include but are not limited to: test improvement area patterns (what are common improvement areas?); using metrics to assess the test process’ start state and using these for boosting organizational change; planning for success (quick wins versus long-term goals); the importance of test policy and test strategy in an international organization; change management aspects.
The presentation aims at providing results from practical experience with TMMi. It is targeted towards attendees who are also implementing test process improvements or are considering starting them.
