Software Testing – Present Problems and Future Solutions

Software Testing, despite its importance, remains a discipline lacking a real discipline. There are hardly any lifecycle tools and ITEs (Integrated Testing Environment) that exist and the ones available have hardly any market reach. Software Testing still remains a manual art, good testing depending on the personal touch of the artist. Innovations do exist in software testing but mostly minor ones.
The demands on the software and the complexity continue to increase without a corresponding increase in our knowledge about software testing. The session “Software Testing – Present Problems and Future Solutions” focuses on the problems that exist today and some possible future innovations that can solve them and consequently change the way software testing gets done. Some of the innovations include integrated tool chain, methods of combining design and code to tests, new formats of writing test cases and others.
